We mentioned some exciting casting news last week for all you Twilighters. The role of Riley, Victoria’s vampire accomplice in the third Twilght installment, Eclipse, has been given to Australian newcomer Xavier Samuel.
According to feports, Xavier beat out some p retty big names for the rile, including the delicious newlywed Channing Tatum and Harry Potter alum Tom Felton. He admits that it waas pretty shocking when he heard ths news:
“I was up against some truly great actors who I’m privileged to be considered among,” he says. “It’s a fantastic opportunity.
It sure is. Just look what it did to the careers of Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Much like the rest of the hunkie vampire flick, Xavier is pretty unknown, having a rather small following down-under in his home of Australia, but this will mark his Hollywood debut.
When asked about his role, Xavier reveals he plays a student: “seduced by the villain Victoria, who manipulates him in order to seek her revenge. That’s as much as I know really!
